Library Self-Assessment Tools

The Library Self-Assessment Tools are simple check-ins that ask public libraries to indicate their current status on several indicators of strong public libraries. The assessment surveys will help you benchmark your organization and will also help us develop training and advocacy materials for SNOE Libraries.

These tools are based on similar evaluations developed for public libraries in states across the US, designed to provide each public library with a report on indicators of organizational health.

These tools are self-assessments, not something that will be graded, scored, or impressionable on state funding. We understand that not every library can, will, or has a need to meet every item in the lists, but we hope that libraries are able to use the lists to develop their aspirations and future development. They should also be great reports to include in strategic planning processes and to share with your boards.

Below are 11 assessments to help your library take a snapshot picture of library services and operations. Click on the icon to view and respond to the self-assessment. Your responses will be emailed to you automatically.
